Village of Endicott to Hold First Public Workshop for the Downtown Revitalization Initiative
Endicott, NY – The Village of Endicott was selected by the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council to receive a $10 million award from New York State through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). The DRI investment will allow Endicott to develop a Strategic Investment Plan and implement key catalytic projects that advance its vision for downtown revitalization. Projects selected for DRI funding will transform the downtown and support a vibrant local economy.
The approximately seven-month DRI planning process is guided by a Local Planning Committee (LPC) of representatives from local government, community organizations, local businesses, and local residents. The next LPC meeting will be March 8, 2022, from 4:00 p.m – 8:00 p.m. and the LPC will continue to meet regularly until the plan is completed in July 2022. The meetings are working sessions for the LPC, but they are open to the public. LPC meetings for the Endicott DRI are being held remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Information about how the public can observe LPC meetings is available at www.EndicottDRI.com/get-involved.
The first of three public workshops is scheduled for Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. This meeting will be held virtually; more information is available at www.endicottdri.com/get-involved. A second public workshop will be held in April/May 2022, and a final public workshop will be held in June 2022.
In addition, an online visioning exercise will be open for public input from March 4 – 31. Please visit www.endicottdri.com/get-involved for more information on opportunities for public input and the DRI planning process.
