Traffic Signal Upgrades Coming to Two Key Endicott Intersections This Spring

The Village of Endicott is moving forward with a significant infrastructure project this spring aimed at improving safety and traffic flow along a busy corridor of Watson Boulevard.

Starting Monday, April 21, 2025, Bothar Construction LLC will begin work on the Traffic Signal Replacement Project at two intersections:

  • Watson Boulevard and Hayes Avenue

  • Watson Boulevard and North McKinley Avenue

The project will involve the complete replacement of traffic signal systems, upgrades to pedestrian sidewalks to enhance accessibility and safety, and the milling and paving of both intersections.

To keep traffic moving safely during construction, the Village advises that alternating lane closures and pedestrian detours will be in place. Drivers and pedestrians are asked to use extra caution in these areas and obey all posted signage.

“This is a meaningful investment in the safety and functionality of one of our most traveled corridors,” said Mayor Nick Burlingame. “We’re proud to continue enhancing our infrastructure in ways that serve residents, businesses, and visitors alike.”

Construction is expected to continue through the end of June, pending weather and unforeseen delays.

Ahead of the main project start date, manhole repair work will take place at each intersection during the week of April 14, 2025. This early-phase work will result in temporary lane shifts but is necessary to prepare underground systems for the improvements to come.
