SNOW REMOVAL COMMAND CENTER: UPDATE DECEMBER 20, 2020
The Village of Endicott remains under a State of Emergency with no unnecessary travel. Village Hall will be closed, Monday, December 21, 2020, but all departments involved with snow removal operations remain dedicated to that effort.
Garbage collection scheduled for Monday will be collected. However, there will be no recycling collection this week. Recycling collection in the Village will resume on December 28, 2020.
Police Chief Patrick Garey asks drivers to avoid the Village of Endicott. Traffic on the roads is impeding snow removal operations. All streets in the Village are passable for emergency vehicles. Snowplow operations are now focusing on widening streets that are the narrowest.. Crews are doing their best to avoid plowing in driveways and covering sidewalks, but it is unavoidable in some situations.
Snowplowing is continuing for all streets, and streets will be revisited for cleanup. State and County resources continue to be utilized to remove snow; however current snowfall may require some of those resources to be diverted, which will slow removal in the Village. There is no parking on village streets due to the snow emergency until snow removal operations are completed.
Volunteers willing to help the elderly and disabled clear their sidewalks and driveways are encouraged to contact the Command Post. Elderly or disabled residents who need assistance clearing sidewalks and driveways may contact the Command Post to see if volunteers are available. That number is 607-757-5366.
