Endicott Celebrates the Completion of Washington Avenue Renovations with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The community came together in the heart of the Village of Endicott to celebrate a new era by cutting the ribbon on the newly transformed Washington Avenue.

Construction began in April 2024, following years of planning to restore “the Ave” to its former glory. Key upgrades include improved safety with ramps, curbs, lighting and surveillance cameras, enhanced infrastructure with new water lines, storm sewer repairs and drainage, and fresh paving, painting, benches and greenery. The $9 million state-funded project received $3.75 million from the Greater Binghamton Fund.

“Washington Ave. has a proud, rich history as a center for commerce and community. While we remember Endicott’s early days fondly, I believe the best is yet to come for our great village,”said Mayor Nick Burlingame. “This revitalization is truly a project by the people, for the people, shaped by residents to benefit the entire community. Our beautiful new Washington Avenue is just the beginning of a better and brighter future for Endicott.”

Village leaders were joined by dozens of key stakeholders, including local elected officials, steering committee members and business owners. We look forward to continuing the celebration this Saturday, Dec. 7, when children and families will experience the first parade down the newly improved Avenue.
